Along the Shore is a finely produced book, a collection of Poems of the sea, published by Lost Tower Publications. An anthology of poems on one theme is a good idea, I think. It includes my poem, Light Ships, I am pleased to say. The sea has been the inspiration for many fine works of literature, from The Odyssey by Homer to Moby Dick by Herman Melville, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, Sea Fever by John Masefield to The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, which is mention

Poets from many different countries have contributed their poems inspired by the sea to the anthology. It is illustrated by seven prints of original oil paintings by the Bulgarian artist Boyan Dimitrov, which are brightly coloured, wonderful to look at. For those seven prints alone the book deserves five stars.

'Along The Shore' is an amazingly beautiful book. I was delighted to have two of my haiku accepted into this anthology.

The poems in 'Along The Shore' offer a myriad of emotions, memories, and musings about the sea. Its power, danger and changeable nature are reflected in the huge variety of poetry within its pages. My personal favourites were - Uma Venkatraman's poem

'Sea Dress' with its beautiful imagery, Elisavietta Ritchie's

'Nutmeg Poem' and the freshness of Woody Woodger's poem

    'What We Wal

In between the white pages of this anthology are startling, vibrant, slightly surreal expressive paintings of the sea which shine out from the pages and draw you into the book.

    A great book!
