I have been wanting to read a good sports romance for while now and Jacob Chance did not disappoint at all with Penalty. I absolutely loved this book and didn't want it to end. Penalty was sweet, funny and so incredibly detailed that it felt as if you were watching a movie instead of reading.

Brady is the cocky, arrogant quarterback of BU's football team, who is used to getting whatever or whoever he wants. Seriously all he had to do is flash a smile and the ladies dropped their panties. Well until Harlow. This shy grey eyed beauty was not falling for Brady's charm no matter how much she wanted to. No, our girl Harlow made him work for her attention, and trust me when I say this.... Brady did not mind proving himself one bit. And he definitely did prove he was worth it. Brady turned out to be sweet, caring, funny and showed us just how much he really liked Harlow. And when she finally gave him the chance, their chemistry was explosive. But what happens when Brady's past rears it's ugly head? Can Harlow overlook something he did before they met??

Penalty is a sports romance, college love story by Jacob Chance that will leave you swooning. It has the perfect amount of drama and what I like to say the perfect amount of "Chance Brothers" sexual passion that is expected from this author.

Brady Lincoln is the ultimate University football team quarterback bad boy, he can and probably has had most of the girls on campus. I wasn't a fan of his from the beginning because Jacob Chance literally grabs the reader from the start with his sexual arrogance. I realized all it takes is one lady that is immune to his charms that had me seeing Brady in a different light. How far will he go to get the attention of one young lady that is not like all the other girls falling at his feet?

Harlow is a great character and easy to fall in love with, she is shy, funny, strong and determined to guard her heart. She doesn't even realize that she has the power to change this gorgeous bad boy and make him a better man, that's until she opens up her heart. Falling for Brady Lincoln is more than she ever expected, but will she be able to handle a mistake from his past?

I enjoyed every minute reading Penalty, it's well written. Jacob Chance still amazes me with just how much he can fit into a short story and leaves the reader satisfied with just the right amount of drama, romance and sexual references. I am left one happy reader and I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fast and sexy read. 5 Stars!

I am happy to say that I was wrong to even consider it!

While this storyline does involve a cocky playboy quarterback and the shy beautiful girl that's about the end of the similarities to other stories ( at least ones that I have read ) The rest is made up of humorous dialogue, flirtatious banter, some dirty talk that could school my hubby, excellent sports descriptive scenes ( I have read many 'sports romances' that have none ) copious amounts of hotness, plot twists to keep you even more engaged along with that sweet emotionally charged romance that we get to watch grow through the pages!

Jacob Chances unique style of writing shows on the pages of every book he writes, no matter what genre. This book is just more proof of that unique gift!

I look forward to reading his next book soon!

    Brady and Harlow.......

was another highly enjoyable book by author Jacob Chance. I found this book a bit different than his previous titles in that the suspense-thriller aspect did not exist. That said,

had some angst, a lot of romance and even some humor and witty dialogue.

Brady Lincoln was the popular, arrogant, cocky quarterback on BU's football team. Yes he was everything stereotypical you might find in a hero of the sports romance genre. But he was so much more. I found that Brady had deep feelings and a huge heart. Sure he was a 'player' with the ladies and had no complaints regarding his lifestyle. But unfortunately later, he would have regrets because unexpectedly he found someone he wanted to be good for, to give his heart to. Because of his well-earned reputation, Brady will have to work very hard to get his girl. Though he didn't mind the effort he would have to put fourth.

    It would be worth it.

    Because 'she' was worth it.

Harlow was quiet, shy and devoted to her studies. She was not a party girl. When she meets Brady, she is enthralled by his celebrity status, gorgeous looks and confident attitude, even if he unnerved her. What Harlow didn't like was Brady's reputation. As a result, she didn't trust him at first. But Brady wasn't giving up. He was the perfect gentlemen with anything and everything to do with Harlow. Brady totally won me over.

Watching their relationship develop from strangers to acquaintances to friends to romance was sweet and endearing. Brady impressed me over and over with his charm and wit. He was also a sexy, dirty talker. ;)

is not a suspense novel as I mentioned earlier. The heat aspect is downright sexy and erotic. The chemistry between Brady and Harlow was strong and I easily felt it through the writing. That said, I appreciated they took their time with intimacy however the sexual tension was thick in the atmosphere around them. This book is also written in both POVs. I loved being inside Brady's head as much as in Harlow's.

There is a snag in their relationship that needs repairing before they find their HEA. Remember what I said earlier about Brady and regrets? I'll just let you ponder that.......

Another aspect of this book I enjoyed was the scene descriptions. I felt like I was in Boston. I walked the streets along with the characters, I attended the football games and I even felt like I was at the afterparties. The secondary characters were a great addition to the story as well. Some were likable and funny and there were a few that were not. In fact there is one character in particular that I wished had different ending, where they got what they deserved.

The epilogue was sweet. Brady was such a sexy, alpha who also had a sweet romantic side.

If you are wondering whether you want to read this book or not, I recommend it highly. You should add it to your TBRs. Keep your eyes out for

    which is releasing May 12!

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. My opinions are honest and unbiased.*

I'm a firm believer that Jacob can write any genre. Penalty is my favorite so far. I truly loved this story and the characters are amazing.

Jacob is a truly talented author. He can write so many different types of stories. In his sports romance though, he wrote with a passion for the sport of football. It's told in a dual POV and the main characters couldn't be more different.

Brady is quarterback for a college football and the all around playboy. He knows he is hot, that the girls will do anything for him. Brady has the chance to go pro, if he plays his cards right. He doesn't do relationships and has never had an actual girlfriend.

Harlow is college student, studying to get her psychology degree. She pours everything into her schoolwork and just recently her roommate has made her start to go out and experience life too.

Brady and Harlow first meet when she runs into him at a party and spills her drink all over him. Brady is enthralled with her because she is the first woman who didn't openly hand herself over to him. Harlow has watched Brady from a far, but never thought he would fall for her. Brady eventually whittles her down and she agrees to go on a date with him. They are completely opposite, yet it works so well for them. Things are going really well for them, until the completely unthinkable is thrown at Harlow.

Can Brady's playboy days be done? Is Harlow the one to tame him? What will happen when Harlow's world is rocked?

I love the banter and the chemistry of these characters. Brady and Harlow really did "shine" in this book. If you are looking for a sports romance, then look no more! I recommend reading it!

Touchdown for Jacob Chance!!! Penalty is a wonderful book, different from anything that the author has written before yet he pulls it off flawlessly. The characters are very well written and quite defined with Brady, a Football Quaterback (wonder where he came up with this name for his lead male ??? ), who can get any girl he wants with just a smile. Until Harlow who wants nothing to do with the "Player" that is Brady! But there is something there, something that is pulling them towards each other. The "Player" and the "Girl Next Door" is what you have in these characters and find yourself on the sidelines cheering for them to win the "game of love".

I highly recommend this book! I absolutely adored this story!
