The company that somehow has a Druid that messed with Esther and Kenzi's minds. They also totally invaded Kenzi's life and privacy in trying to capture Ryder.

A lot of pieces are starting to come together in

. The possibility that all may not be Ulrick's doing, and that there is someone that is impersonating him starts to enter the equation for the Kings. Things are not going according to anyone's plans anymore since Mikkel has discovered Ulrick's secret and in turn Ulrick learns of Mikkel's Druid. The odds are starting to look kind of scary as to just what Mikkel is going to be able to do to Ulrick. This Druid is scary as the Druids of MacCloud Castle will attest. She has powers that are unheard of.

Devon is a great, independent woman. Loving her job and dabbling in the dating world. She reads a hilarious dating blog that even shows up at the end of the book so I'm kind of curious as to who is actually behind the blog. It may have nothing to do with the Kings and their world, but she sounds like quite the character and I think she'd fit in nicely with the family at Draegan!

Devon doesn't believe in the magic at first but quickly gets introduced and is forced to accept that the man she is interested in is a dragon. It takes her some thinking, but she gets so overwhelmed by all the other magic, she is can't help but just deal and finds that she actually has fallen in love with Anson, even in his brown dragon form.

Anson is sick to death of the no-fly rule and hiding from the humans. I felt like he was dangerous to have out since he didn't really want to to try too hard to hide his true form. Even in front of humans. When he is trapped his choices are limited and even though he is falling into Kyvor's plans, he shifts. Much to Kyvor's delight. But, Kyvor is acting on assurances of protection from Mikkel and the Druid. He doesn't seem to be the most confident CEO at times.

I was really scared that Devon was going to get the same forced treatment from the Dark that Denae received. The Dark Fae really creep me out and their powers of seduction and death are just wrong. Even if the woman does not understand what is happening to her, it just really freaks me out. Devon needed protection from them at all costs.

Bringing in this Druid to the story is adding another enemy and more danger to this war.

seemed to build up more towards the final war than the previous books but we are left with a LOT of questions. We still have the wooden horse. Mikkel and Ulrick as well as Tareath and Balladin also have issues to be resolved. The web is getting tighter and every little bit of information may be a tipping point to all the tension that is hanging in the air. Explosions are a hair trigger away and battles are coming sooner rather than later.

I'm so wrapped into this series now. I'm dying to know what is going to happen to all these threads we have open. OH and we seem to be getting SO close to knowing who Rhi's King is! I thought for sure that nugget was going to be outted, only to be disappointed. So close! This is why I love this world. Not only do we have the main couple of the book, but there are so many threads building that I feel pulled completely pulled into the story trying to puzzle out what the next moves on the board will be.

did not disappoint and I'm thrilled with how intricate this overall war arc has become. Some things tying together while others are keeping me guessing. I love that Con got caught up on mating ceremonies in this book as I fear the mates are going to need their immortality soon. Con's attitude towards the mates has improved greatly and he has finally accepted that the Kings need their mates. They have all become family and Con is enjoying the feeling of them all together as well. It's nice that the Kings don't have to worry about his disapproval. Not that they really cared once they found their mates!

We still have a few mates that are flying solo, and I'm not sure if we are going to see them mate before hell breaks loose on the Kings. We do have relationship issues that need addressed and I hope they resolve peacefully. So much is happening, I'm dying for the next book to be released already!

I really enjoy Grants storytelling but think I would absolutely love it if it was written in first person. I'm invested in the characters but I know 3rd person just takes that additional closeness away.

When you crack a Donna Grant novel, you know you're in for a treat.

brings us back into the world of the Dark Kings with a situation critical already brewing, electrifying chemistry and action intense suspense that grabs the reader and keeps them hooked till the end.

This series is kind of complex with the many characters and different species and figuring out who they are working with or against. It's a very creative story and plot line and I love how the author has worked in the characters from her Reapers series into this plot.

The timeline of this book was working almost side by side to the timeline of the previous book that was focused on Demetri and Faith.

I love that this focuses on Dragon shifters since there are not many quality books out there that does. It's a fun series and I'm looking forward to continuing with it to see how it all ends.

Overall Series Review: Fun, fast paced PNR series. Great storyline, characters and suspense. Mates for life, protective alphas and many foe. Main characters are the dragon kings along with Dark and Light Fae, Driuds, Reapers and humans. This is a continued storyline focusing on a different couple per book.

This is my first time reading Donna Grant, and I definitely want more! This is the 11th book in the series, and now I want to read the rest of the series! The book is for adults only due to the steamy content. You can definitely understand what is going on having not read the rest of the series, but I bet it would be a whole lot better having read all of the books in order because then you would have all the background that is mentioned and know the characters better.

Anson would definitely stand-offish in the beginning, and I really wondered if he cared at all about humans. Anson definitely warmed up, and you understood him more and more as the story unfolded. Devon is driven and works hard toward her goals. She has a back story that made me cry, and she has come back stronger. I’m not sure what to think of Con or Ulrik at this point and would love to read more of this series to see.

I highly recommend to any paranormal fan because you have a little of everything with dragon shifters, fae, druids, magic, treachery, and mates with a uniquely fantastic story!

Devon had no idea that her work life is steeped in the magical world of Fae. Out of the entire series so far, I think Devon might actually be one of my top favorites. To me, she was the most unique and the most independent. I loved that she is so career-oriented but still had that balance of personality to her. The blog aspect was really cool to read and I thought it added a fresh touch to the series while giving Devon’s character a lot more spunk and personality. There aren’t many heroines who think like Devon does so I found her especially refreshing to read about. I actually think the main reason why I enjoyed this book so much was because of her. So kudos to Grant for creating such a unique and fun character.

Of course, there’s plenty of worldbuilding and progress made in this book. If you’re a fan of Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed series then you will probably enjoy this one as well. They have the same level of worldbuilding and frequent cameos from other characters in the series, so that being said, I would highly suggest reading this series in order.

BLAZE totally exceeded my expectations and I definitely think the Dark Kings series is one of the best Paranormal Romance series out there right now.

I don’t know about a lot of other reviewers or even readers in general for that matter, but I can sometimes find a long book somewhat intimidating. Now

wasn’t an overly long book but it wasn’t a short story either. There are always deadlines to meet, time constraints because of life and family commitments and even your mindframe at the time can make or break whether a book seems too long. Not sure if this has happened to other readers but it’s happened to me more than once. I started reading

and six hours later (slight exaggeration) I looked down at the bottom of my Kindle and realised I’m only at 16%. What? How can that be? So, I batten down the hatches and get serious. Then, 10 minutes later (slight exaggeration) I’m at 82%. HUH? How did that happen? Which leaves me trying to slow down because it’s going too fast.

I don’t know about you, but this happens to me a lot more frequently when I’m reading a good paranormal romance. It’s the mating attraction, with growly Alpha males and unsuspecting heroines, mixed with action, suspense and forces beyond our wildest dreams. You get the buzz from seeing the good guys battle it out with the bad guys. We get to see mates/families/clans having each other’s backs and fighting alongside them to see that good overcomes evil. There’s this feeling of doom, just around the corner, that you’re waiting to arrive. Will they have their magic sword at hand when the evil forces attack? Can their magic fight the other magic or will a new spell conquer them all?

These are the feeling I have come to love experiencing while reading a

    paranormal romance. While

, may seem to be a little long in the start and may even drag while we do the meet and greet, it doesn’t take long to get into the swing of things.

I really enjoyed seeing Devon and Anson’s love story take shape. There was an attraction between them from the start, but you could almost call this one a slowburn…well for a paranormal it was slow..ish. I mean, they didn’t jump each other after 5 minutes of knowing each other, it was more like 10 minutes. In the paranormal worlds, I’ve met, that’s considered a long courtship.

Anyways, I don’t know about any other

fans, but geez the Con and Rhi saga is KILLING ME!! Crikey, Ms Grant, I’ve only read the last couple of books in this series, but I feel for other readers who’ve read all of them. It’s killing me seeing these two apart when they’re obviously meant for each other. It will devastate me if these two don’t make it to the end…OR…heaven forbid…ended up with someone else???

Now, I’m the perfect example of someone who can come late to the party but still enjoy it. I only started reading the

series at #9 and while there were some initial teething problems, I soon settled in. I think

successfully manages to help regular readers "remember” and new readers “catch up” on what happened previously. I liked the friendly reminder and it helped me follow along better.

    So,

was a success for me and I will definitely be back for more. I got to know a few more of the Druids and Warriors when they stepped in to lend a helping hand. And, Now, it looks like I have to add the

to my unending list of books/series to be read. Time…if I only had time…only time…
