    MY THOUGHTS

Blimey. This book has regained some faith for me. It's a cracking, alternative story, thriller, crime, whatever you could call it. It's one of the best books I've read.

We have a few characters that have taken the test. Now, I'm not going to go through the whole story and go into detail, it would spoil it, just read this book!

Imagine if your fate of a partner was in a DNA result. Well, this book indulges you in that world and thought, and what a journey you go on.

The characters are amazing. Each one of them go through a crazy journey of love, loss, belief, satisfaction and a massive wake up call. And to boot, we have a serial killer involved, and he has taken the test – he is a strange bloke, very strange!

I couldn't leave this book alone. I was mesmerised with every chapter. You read each others feelings and thoughts, and it engages you so much that you really feel for them. Everyone should read this book. I can envisage this becoming true one day, maybe good, maybe bad, but who knows. All I do know is, this is an addictive read, and pick it up!

One of my favourites, ever. A true experience from a book!

Thanks, Tracy Fenton, from TBC, for throwing a copy at me. I love this book

    Massive 5*

This was a book that stayed glued to my hands, I really was so enthralled with not only the superb writing but the plot.

What an original high quality top marks concept of a wonderfully woven story.

It's unlike any story that I've read before, so, this is so going to be remembered by me in the future as it stands out because of it.

    Falling in love.

    Seems straight forward.

    Attraction, like, emotions, appeal.

    Not in this book!

What if there was really a Mr Right or Mrs Right for you somewhere in this big wide world, doesn't take in race, creed, religion, looks, where in the world you lived, age or even sexual orientation?

That there is a genetic match......just for you.

Would you get tested even if you already had a partner? Just to see if they were genetically matched with you?

Oh heck, what if they weren't.

Each chapter took on several chapters individually and as couples.

The chapters would read overlap to the next making it such a fantastic experience as a reader keeping abreast with individuals.

This really has a thumbs up from me. I loved it.

Thank you to Random House Ebury for my advanced copy to enjoy.

. Hearts and flowers eh? Um, nope.

    I cannot even

to tell you how much I enjoyed this! It was chocablock full of cliffhangers. Nearly every short chapter ended like I was left precariously dangling over the edge. Leaving me no choice but to take off from the last

from one of the other four POV 's.

It was enormously entertaining, there was touching moments, humorous moments and absolutely

    moments!

This is, without a shadow of a doubt going on my

    shelf.

It was destined to get 5 stars from me from about chapter 5.

Read it. I recommend this to everybody.

Loved this one. Flew through it. Original, engaging and thoroughly satisfying.

The premise of the book is that it has been discovered that everybody shares a gene with one person in the world and this person is your perfect match. The woman who discovered this sets up a company which is more or less the worlds biggest dating agency. With a simple swab of the mouth you can be entered into the database and if and when your genetic match is found you will be notified and you can pay a fee to find out the details of your match and pursue it yourself.

The story is five stories in one as we follow five different relationships as a result of the match, all unrelated, told in short chapter form, jumping from one to the other on chapter to chapter. At first I found this quite confusing as I was(what felt like)bombarded with characters in the first few chapters. As said they are unrelated so I did find it confusing at the start(I'm hopeless with remembering a lot of characters) but it was short lived. After a couple of chapters of each character,I could easily remember who is who. The characters were very clearly written and well rounded and it made it easy to slip from one story to another in each and every chapter. In fact I loved the format. Th book zipped along. The short chapters were great and suited the format of five concurrent stories perfectly.

The book is brilliant. It's a mix of thriller, sci fi, romance, drama! It poses some pertinent questions while never being anything but entertaining. Of course the perfect match is never as straight forward as we think and even here with what should be a copperfast "happy ever after" tool, the genetic match, nothing is straight forward.

An absolute pleasure to read, I haven't read a novel quite like it. I kept thinking this has a movie or tv show written all over it. It would be perfect. All the characters are still vivid in my head hours after finishing the book. I would really recommend grabbing a copy of this and going on the five journeys the author brings you on and enjoy every one of them.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Penguin Random House UK and John Marrs for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

So many internet dating sites out there, each promising to match you to other individuals who, like you, are looking to find their one true love. Disappointments abound, bad matches are made. Ready to give up? What if a mere mouth swab could do the trick for you? Match you with your other half, as it were. It's DNA, should be foolproof. Takes the stress and the guesswork out of the whole dating scene, and it has taken the world by storm.

The catch is that your DNA match could live on the other side of the world, or be decades older than you, or already married, or even the same gender as you. It may not matter, you are made for each other.

Loved the originality, the short chapters were perfectly suited to the read, and I was interested in every one of the characters and how their lives were impacted by finding "the one".

Through the likes of Tinder, speed dating, etc...

What if there was a way you could be sure of finding your perfect match..... would you be interested??

Would you be willing to risk It??

Well "The One"  does.... It explores the dating world if DNA and science was your sure fix way of finding your perfect match.

The story follows 5 people on their quest to find love using just a DNA match.

No one said the quest to true love is ever easy.

The match can uncover a whole can of worms.

The matches can be any age, race, sexuality, any country, married/divorced/single.

Those who put there faith in the science have to be open to what may/will be revealed as a perfect match! Good or bad!

It's a very compelling read, really explores the ups and downs and dangers. Each story is cleverly written and John Marrs seamlessly switches between the stories making it so easy to follow.

Normally I find stories that have so many character stories really hard to digest, but with this book i was so enthralled everything just fitted into place.

The One is extremely addictive.... you have been warned!

The nature of the book is enthralling and believable this could so easily be real.

The Characters were so well written by the end of the book I felt I had lived their journey alongside.

Would I recommend this book.... 100% Yes!!

Perfect book for readers who like books that test the boundaries, offer something fresh and new. Readers who love Thrillers and Physiological reads.

I Urge you to read this book it really is highly addictive, edge of your seat, hanging on to Marrs every word!

I received this book from the Publisher in exchange for a honest and fair review via Netgalley.

This story is about five persons who took Match Your DNA test to find their soulmates. I liked that idea but just for the story because I don’t need my DNA tell me who’s my husband! This story is about when they found out about their Matches, how they’re dealing with them. The first half was a little slow but the second half was better because of consequences that show themselves. I really don’t like all the characters, I liked just Nick. The first half was a little slow but the second half was better because of consequences that show themselves. I really don’t like all the characters, I liked just Nick. The story wasn’t that mysterious I expected. And I must add it wasn’t Psychological Thriller, at all!

Mandy is a divorced woman. Apparently her Match is dead. She makes me really, really angry because of her decisions. She is like a child.

Christopher is a serial killer, a sick one. And of course his Match is a police officer. Their story was boring. I mean he killed twenty-nine women without anybody to know about him or have any clue.

Jade matched with an Australian man but when she goes from UK to see him, he wasn’t someone who she was expected. Their story was OK.

Nick is engaged but his fiancee insisted before they get married, they do this test but when the results came they weren’t matched and Nick’s Match was a man. I hate his fiancee but somehow I liked their story.

Ellie is the one who discover the Match DNA and she has tried it on herself too. Her Match was an ordinary man. I liked their story because there was that mystery I was waiting for!

The story is told in multiple POV, 3 rd person and it’s a standalone story. All in all, it wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t that good either. But at some point you can enjoy the story.
